Prime Minister Modi's government, which is heading for elections next year, is pushing the development of India's space industry. Investors poured $119 million into Indian space startups in 2022, up from a total of just $38 million in all the years up to 2017. In March, OneWeb partnered with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to launch 36 satellites. Amazon's Project Kuiper (AMZN.O) has also been in talks with regulators to offer satellite broadband services in India, the Economic Times newspaper reported last month.

CNN —SpaceX is asking federal regulators to correct a report that suggests the company’s Starlink satellite constellation could pose grave risks to people on Earth. The report was delivered to members of Congress by the Federal Aviation Administration, which licenses the launch and reentry of commercial spacecraft, on October 5. The letter also states that 325 Starlink satellites have already deorbited since February 2020, and no debris has been found. For purposes of this report, the FAA uses the more conservative approach,” according to the document. Starlink is mentioned 28 times in the FAA report, while Amazon’s Project Kuiper system is mentioned four times in data tables.

Astranis will own and operate the satellite, with services provider Orbits Corp. buying capacity through a long-term contract for a local Philippine internet service provider, HTechCorp. Its currently preparing to launch two more batches of satellites – which Astranis calls "Block 2" and "Block 3." But the company's approach marks a unique way of providing broadband service from space, Gedmark has previously said. These so-called geostationary or GEO satellites is what Eutelsat specializes in. OneWeb, a British company, specializes in so-called low Earth orbit, or LEO satellites, which are used for things like internet connectivity. By combining Eutelsat's legacy GEO business with the LEO business of OneWeb, Berneke feels like it could be a big advantage. TAIPEI, June 11 (Reuters) - Taiwan Digital Minister Audrey Tang will make a rare high-level ministerial trip to Britain this week where she is expected to visit government departments and meet a company specialising in low-earth orbit satellites, her ministry said on Sunday. The two sides will "exchange views on issues related to digital governance and digital industry cooperation", the ministry added, without giving details. Tang will also visit OneWeb, which specialises in low-earth orbit satellites, and hopes to bolster Taiwan's communications resilience plans, the ministry said. Taiwan Foreign Minister Joseph Wu is expected to go to Europe this week, too, where he will attend a security forum in Prague. The last Taiwanese minister known to have visited Britain was Taiwan's top trade negotiator John Deng, who went last June.

AstranisAstranis, a San Francisco-based company with an alternative approach to providing internet access from satellites, has its first spacecraft in orbit, and the company on Wednesday said it's working "perfectly." Astranis has already completed tests with the satellite, including connecting to user equipment in its service target of Alaska for the first time. "This test validates everything that we've been working on and working towards and it's a huge, huge deal," Gedmark said. The Arcturus satellite is seen deploying its solar arrays in the background from onboard the upper stage of SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket.

PARIS, March 29 (Reuters) - Satellite company SES (SESFg.LU) confirmed on Wednesday that it was in talks with U.S. rival Intelsat over a possible combination of their businesses that would create an industry giant. "In response to rumours in the market, SES S.A. confirms that the company has engaged in discussions regarding a possible combination with Intelsat," SES said. SES is aiming to reach an agreement with Intelsat as soon as the next few weeks, Bloomberg said, citing sources. Merger talks between the two signal further consolidation in the rapidly changing satellite Internet industry to challenge the likes of Elon Musk-owned SpaceX's Starlink and Amazon.com's (AMZN.O) Project Kuiper. The Paris-listed shares of Luxembourg-based SES (SESFg.LU), rose 3.4% on the report of the two sides nearing a deal, according to traders.
